The NFT is obtained through blockchain technology, where it functions as a seal of authenticity, thus making it unique and exclusive. When you purchase an NFT, you receive a numeric digital Hash, generated through a function where it indicates that you have purchased something unique in the world.

A small example for easy understanding: There are several copys of Monalisa for sale. However, the original only belongs to the Louvre museum, because only this museum has a certificate of authenticity as proof. The same is true for the NFTs. Knowing this, luxury brands have already invested in the market and are generating millions with their auctions in NFTs. Dolce & Gabbana launched a collection on NFTs (Collezione Genesi) where it raised $5.65 million. Adidas announced its new NFT collection, right after Nike bought RTFKT, where it will sell virtual sneakers as NFTs.

By the end of 2021, this market reached a value of $41 billion, according to the Chainalysis report.
