Care Guide

What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling Silver is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. Pure silver is too soft to be shaped and worn in everyday jewelry, which is why sterling silver is the highest quality silver commonly used in jewelry making.

Care for Silver Jewelry

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time as the other metals in the alloy, such as copper, react with the air. Perfumes, hair spray, hand gel and perspiration can accelerate this process.

To keep your jewelry in great condition:

Polish with a silver cloth (only applicable for dark silver or oxidized pieces).
Store your jewelry in your Dicci box when not wearing it.
Avoid contact with chemicals such as perfume, hair spray and deodorant.
Remove jewelry before exercising to prevent exposure to sweat.

     Care for Plated Jewelry

Plated jewelry may eventually fade or lose color due to natural wear. The lifespan of the plating depends on how often the jewelry is worn and how carefully it is treated.

Some customers report several years of good condition, while others may notice fading sooner depending on daily use.

    To maintain plated jewelry:

    Clean using specialized jewelry cleaners.
Store it in your Dicci box, separate from other items to avoid scratches.
Avoid contact with chemicals such as household cleaners, perfumes and moisturizers.
Avoid prolonged contact with water and dry the piece thoroughly if it becomes wet.

    Care for Adjustable Jewelry

Our adjustable jewelry pieces are designed to be opened or closed to fit comfortably.

Silver is a soft metal, so adjustments should be done gently. Avoid repeated bending, as frequent adjustments may weaken the material and eventually lead to cracking or breakage.

    How to Store Your Jewelry

Our products are guaranteed against manufacturing faults, but not misuse. To keep your jewelry in the best possible condition:

Store jewelry in a dark, dry and cool place.
Fasten chains before storing to avoid tangling.
Store pieces separately to prevent scratches.
Keep your jewelry in the Dicci box it came with for extra protection.
